Naomi Dancer

Naomi Dancer, a senior at Renton High School and Associated Student Body president, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Shareece S. Hayes Finer Womanhood Scholarship, awarded by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Rho Lambda Zeta Chapter.

Recognized for her leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to community service, Dancer has logged more than 200 hours of service while maintaining a strong presence in her school and community. Her efforts have also earned her recognition as “Washingtonian of the Day” by Gov. Bob Ferguson.

This fall, Dancer will attend North Carolina A&T State University, where she plans to major in secondary education and biology. She hopes to use her future career in education to inspire and mentor the next generation.

“I believe education is one of the most powerful tools for change,” said Dancer. “Seeing students gain confidence and understanding reminded me of the impact that patience, encouragement, and strong mentorship can have.”

The Shareece S. Hayes Finer Womanhood Scholarship is awarded to young women in King and Snohomish counties who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service. The scholarship honors Soror Shareece S. Hayes, a founding member of the Rho Lambda Zeta Chapter and a longtime advocate for youth and education.

Chapter members said Dancer reflects the organization’s core principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood.

The Rho Lambda Zeta Chapter, based in SeaTac, continues to support young women through scholarships and community programs designed to uplift youth, empower women, and strengthen communities.
