Seattle International Film Festival: When A Witness Recants

In 1983, three innocent teenagers were wrongfully sentenced to life for a Baltimore murder they didn’t commit. Coerced witnesses and police corruption stole thirty-six years of their lives before their 2018 exoneration. Directed by Dawn Porter and inspired by Jennifer Gonnerman’s New Yorker reporting, this evocative, illustrated documentary explores systemic failure, the struggle for reentry, and the resilient humanity of the “Harlem Park Three.”

Showtimes: May 14th , 2026, 6pm at the SIFF Cinema Uptown
